Responsibilities

Req ID: 58526
  • Transcribes United Pain Center Refill Line and Patient Care Line calls. Creates Encounters in Excellian with pertinent information (patient name, DOB, nature of call). Routes encounters to appropriate patient care staff.
  • Communicates urgent/emergent patient needs from the patient care lines with providers and staff
  • Works in Health Information Services and scans documents, assists providers with obtaining medical records, and manages new patient application process
  • Completes charge entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • High school education or equivalent, some college preferred

Qualification/Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in outpatient clinical setting is preferred
  • Extensive PC knowledge and knowledge of various software applications including electronic medical record systems.
  • Critical thinking skills. Must be able to apply knowledge from one process to another to demonstrate an understanding of the job functions.
  • Ability to work with patients, customers and clinical personnel in a professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve and multi-task and perform in a high demanding environment to meet established goals.
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities in a manner respectful of the rights of patients
  • Must understand and apply state and federal rules including the Privacy Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act related to access and disclosure of protected health information to all aspects of the job
