UW Medical Center Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a full time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join their Heart Institute Clinics in North Seattle, Ballard, and Mill Creek. This is a great opportunity to join a team of cardiologists, surgeons, and clinicians who are internationally recognized for their expertise in coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disturbances, and congenital heart disease.

SCHEDULE:
The Medical Assistant will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, and will float to three clinic locations. This is a no weekends, no holidays position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Certified Medical Assistant will support daily clinic flow at the Heart Institute locations in Ballard, Mill Creek, and North Seattle.

Bring patients to exam rooms and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight

Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider

Administer EKGs, external monitor placements, and exercise tolerance tests

Provide support during clinical procedures

Answer questions and follow through on patient inquiries

REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment.

DESIRED:

Familiarity with Epic EMR software

Active BLS Certification

Previous work experience in a cardiology setting
