The Adult Medicine Clinic at Harborview has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, MEDICAL ASSISTANT. This position's hours are MONDAY-FRIDAY 9:30-6PM and some TUESDAYS 12-8pm. Conveniently located in the First Hill neighborhood, the clinic offers comprehensive wellness care and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses. Internal medicine doctors, called internists, focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and illnesses in adults. These practitioners may also serve as primary care physicians. The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for patient care, clinic maintenance, and assisting other support and provider staff as needed. The MA is capable of performing certain clinical and clerical duties as trained and is responsible for ensuring that the clinic is opened, stocked, cleaned, and closed each day. The MA is responsible for providing care to a wide range of ethnically and culturally diverse patient population. As such, the Medical Assistant must be able to work with a diverse patient population. RESPONSIBILITIES: REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience. LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: Valid BLS/CPR Card UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest. |
