Abbott Point of Care (APOC) has an opening in Princeton, NJ for Medical Affairs Director. This leader will provide daily business operations support for Medical Affairs issues related to product development, on market quality issues, compliance issues, commercial/marketing activities and customer interactions. He/she will will represent APOC to external regulatory agencies and professional societies. Main focus of this role will support the North America and LATAM regions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develops draft medical opinions, medical platform documents and Health Hazard Assessments for review by medical directors.
  • Provides initial medical input for promotional and commercial activities as requested.
  • Serves as medical representative on Risk Evaluation teams. Assists investigation teams by providing medical input as needed.
  • Responsible for updating medical affairs procedural documents and submitting change requests when needed.
  • Provide medical support for MDR reporting when needed.
  • Provides initial medical input for quality/regulatory customer communications, technical bulletins and quality directives.
  • Assist the medical director with direct customer interactions as needed.
  • Key opinion leader (KOL) identification and development.
  • Assist Commercial team when working with patient customers.
  • Support Clinical Affairs to produce proof sources (white papers).
  • Providing training to APOC staff.

    Education and experience:

    MD degree is required. A minimum of 3 years patient facing clinical experience is required. 1-2 years industry experience is also required. Familiarity with this device, market segment and how the device is used is desirable but not required. Spanish speaking is a plus. Strong strategic, leadership competencies are essential.
