Primary Duties:

  • Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects.
  • Develops and assesses production or inspection operations and sequences, equipment, tooling gages, or acceptance equipment and processing methods required to manufacture or inspect complex components and assemblies.
  • Translates customer concepts into production items by coordinating the activities of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and related organizations.
  • Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
  • Compiles cost estimates and delivery quotations, monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review.
  • Plans and performs engineering testing and development programs and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve engineering and production problems and to assure product manufacturability
  •  Analyzes processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and to establish quality levels and trends.
  • Creates details Technical Data Packages, based on knowledge of manufacturing capability, to assure that released designs can be produced.
  • Determines acceptability of products and materials in conjunction with customer, quality, and other affected organizations.
  • Interacts with customers and suppliers to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost effective improvements for product, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flow time.
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment.

    You Must Have:

    • US\r citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy\r \"Q\" level security clearance.
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET\r accredited institution/program
    • Two (2) or more years' experience in Mechanical Engineering.

      We Value:

      • Existing\r DOE Q-Clearance desirable.
      • Advanced degree in engineering.
      • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo
      • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME\r Y14.100
      • Experience with applying Military Standards to Mechanical Engineering\r Designs.
      • Experience with machining, forming and joining technologies.
      • Ability to apply advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality\r control techniques to complex engineering projects.
      • Ability to work under minimal supervision with latitude for independent\r action and decision making.
      • Experience interacting with and presenting to multiple levels of technical\r stakeholders and customers.
      • Experience connecting design to manufacturing, driving consistency,\r reliability and producibility.
      • Interest in and willingness to\r undertake variety of engineering assignments.
