We're looking for a materials manager for a new product introduction production line for a complex robotics project. This role is part of a manufacturing organization responsible for delivering consistent robots while also incorporating frequent changes and upgrades to the product as well as supporting ongoing R&D efforts. The materials manager role involves being flexible and dynamic and creating tools and processes, not just using them. Our planning, inventory, and purchasing systems of the team are GSheets based and the role requires comfort with these systems. The materials management lead will interface across design engineering, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, manufacturing, and support teams to ensure materials availability for each of these teams needs. This is an exciting, dynamic role which is critical to the success of a moonshot in robotics.


+ Build material planning: drive material readiness for builds/upgrades, generate requirements based on demand, initiate purchasing, and publish clear-to-build reports

+ Source, evaluate and recommend potential suppliers and support cost-reduction programs

+ Vendor Management and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.

+ Primary material liaison with internal factory as well as external vendors.

+ Manage, maintain, and improve purchasing sheets and systems. Potential to manage selection and implementation of new systems and software.

+ Stock room inventory management and material planning based on forecast demand.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Motivated, detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver who is able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Team player with excellent communication skills

+ Previous experience in New Product Introduction Supply Chain Procurement

+ Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving team members from multiple disciplines

+ Strong skills in Excel / Google sheets with ability to write advanced functions and queries

+ Experience working in manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

+ BS/MS in engineering or other engineering background

+ Experience using and setting up MRP, ERP, and/or MES systems

+ Familiarity with Google App Script and Google Query Language (or similar)

+ Experience in vendor management (POs, contracts, NDAs, performance metrics)

+ Knowledgeable about typical electro-mechanical product BOMs. (mechanical parts, PCBAs, motors, cables, etc.)
