Markets Post Trade Risk Analyst

**Job Purpose**

The Modular Control Group is a new team within a new function called Markets Post Trade Transaction and Processing Risk (TPR). The team is responsible for providing Markets-wide leadership by proactively consolidating, developing and implementing frameworks to assess, control & monitor common transaction and processing risk activities to ensure they operate within risk appetite. Examples of common transaction and processing risk activities include but are not limited to Settlements, Clearing, Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting etc. The team establishes and maintains a robust 1st Line of Defence control environment and culture to minimize operational risk within the business.

**Key responsibilities:**

+ Support a defined set of common control frameworks aligned to Markets Post Trade TPR

+ Perform control design effectiveness assessments ensuring completeness of operation within applicable Markets businesses. Provide enhancements solutions for gaps identified working closely with the Transformation team and other teams within TPR group to deliver

+ Support efforts to ensure commitments made to regulators are met on time and in a robust manner

+ Guide incident management and issues management processes as required, working in partnership with corrective action plan owners and issue managers to ensure these processes and corresponding commitments are performed on schedule to the required quality standards, particularly during times of distress

+ Support the Markets business and provide subject matter expertise at various global / regional working groups and to senior stakeholders and other team members

+ Responsibility for quality and timely delivery of end results

+ As a new function, relationship management is critical to building successful partnerships with supported Line of Businesses Operations leaders, process owners and control leaders

**Knowledge, Experience & Skills:**

+ Experience and/or knowledge in Markets Transactions Services function i.e., Settlements, Clearing, Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting etc.

+ Experience in planning, scoping and/or leading execution of First Line assurance projects (preferred). Can also be experience in Internal Audit or Compliance.

+ Demonstrated relevant experience in a large global bank.

+ Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.

+ Strong analytical capability and ability to manage large data sets to arrive at sound conclusions.

+ Strong written communication skills to articulate clearly and concisely.

+ Strong verbal communication skills to guide, influence and convince others. This is often at a senior level.

+ Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.


+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience, but appropriate industry experience & exceptional delivery track record is as important.
