Market Manager - Automotive Engine Oil / Viscosity Modifiers


Chevron Oronite is accepting online applications for the position of Market Manager - Automotive Engine Oil / Viscosity Modifiers located in Jurong Island, Singapore through February 20, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).All interested applicants, please read the Data Privacy Notice before submitting application.

This position reports to the Lead Market Manager, AEO/VM, Asia Pacific. The position will be based in Singapore (Jurong Island) and the incumbent should expect frequent travel within the Asia-Pacific Region as well as occasional travel to the US and Europe. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of product and business strategies and plans.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

+ Assigned to support large regional and/or global customers and countries

+ Actively engages and strategically influence customer technical service/ marketing teams within the customer organization to support Account Managers to defend/grow Automotive Engine Oil additive product line

+ Understands assigned markets, product line strategy, competitor landscape, and provides price recommendations

+ Provides product recommendations, automotive engine oil market trends and documentation support of performance claims to sales team and customers

+ Identifies business opportunities and technical services projects, lead teams, create project plans, track project timelines and deliver customer technical service programs. The role will be expected to work on multiple projects simultaneously and commercialize new products

+ Develops strategies to grow Automotive Product line in assigned markets/accounts to meet Oronite business expectations

+ Works closely with other functional groups and regions to meet Oronite business expectations and targets, ensures compliance with all corporate and legal requirements

Required Qualifications:

+ Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry. Additional degree in Business would be an advantage

+ Around 7-10 years marketing, business or technical service experience in the lubricants, additives or specialty chemical/petrochemical industry

+ Experience in managing complicated customer requirements

+ Extensive knowledge of internal combustion engine, engine oil applications and specifications, Capable of conversing with OEMs and customers on specific engine and equipment needs

+ Presentation skills to generate buy-in and alignment from key stakeholders, ability to build a sense of shared purpose through effective communication with contributors and achieve goals

+ Planning, Strategic thinking and Analytical skills

+ Good command of both written and spoken English

Relocation Options:Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations:Selected candidate will work in the Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
