Santa RosaExtrusion is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer that will accept the challenge of learning and developing multiple disciplines in a flexible environment. The person that takes this role will be expected to support extrusion operations to ensure productivity, quality, and other department goals are met. This position will help develop and document extrusion process and support validation activities to ensure smooth production and improve process stability. This position will be part of an off-load transfer team moving extrusion production to another US Medtronic production site. Project is expected to take approximately 4 years to complete.

**A Day in the Life**


+ Use and application of polymers/extrusion/engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

+ Provide extrusion/engineering solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

+ Participate in or lead equipment validation/process qualification validation/raw material qualification activities - Draft validation protocol, executes validations and draft validation report.

+ Dispositions nonconforming products and trends failure modes so that root causes can be identified and addressed.

+ Participates in process development and use of DOE tools to characterize process.

+ Authors and maintains manufacturing process documentation.

+ Documents existing processes to aid in smooth transfer of production.

+ Work with off and on-load transfer teams

+ Writes technical reports in support of CO submissions, project justifications, defect analyses, etc.

+ Spends significant portion of each day in the extrusion lab on process development and providing solutions to routine technical problems.

+ Designs extrusion tooling/process fixtures.

+ Provides detailed plans and time lines for assigned projects.

+ Participate in and communication of department safety initiatives.

+ Performs other duties as defined.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelorsdegree

+ Minimumof 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years ofexperience
