**Position Overview**

Successful candidate will be responsible for day to day support of
the Rotor Coil Manufacturing area for Siemens in Fort Payne, AL. In addition, the successful candidate will be
responsible for the development of continuous improvement measures for the

+ Employeewill be responsible for day-to-day tactical support of area responsiblefor the machining, bending, forming, and brazing of coppercomponents.Excellent manufacturingengineering support is critical to maintain required quality performanceand on-time-delivery performance.

+ Employees efforts will drive on-time-delivery, qualityperformance, productivity, and safety results for the area.Employee will provide one-to-one layouts forforming and bending of copper components and employee may be asked to assistwith CNC programming for copper components with complex geometries.

+ Employee will interact with R&D and design engineering toprovide input into design for manufacturability.

+ Employee will report to Rotor Coil Operations Manager who reportsdirectly to the Plant Manager.TheSiemens Fort Payne facility is the only facility in the Siemens network whichmanufactures rotor windings for large generators, and therefore, theperformance of this facility is vital to the success of Siemens in the largepower generation business.


+ Analyzes product specifications, clarifies product requirements,and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D, Engineering and/or ProductManagement.

+ Develops and calculates product modifications needed to increaseefficiency of production and contributes to re-engineering.

+ Provides detailed information on product specifications and onpieces and parts needed for product completion.

+ Plans equipment layout, tools and IT programs needed, and designsor contributes to design the manufacturing workflow. Cooperates in theseaspects with other respective Engineers.

+ Analyzes manufacturing sequences during pilot series and test andanalyzes manufacturability of pre-series samples. May recommend product changesand implements production amendments.

+ Conducts improvements projects on site or unit level, and liaiseswith other engineering functions, external vendors or service providers.Identifies opportunities to reduce productmanufacturing costs and opportunities to reduce product manufacturing cycletimes.Identifies and implementsmanufacturing process improvements to improve process yield and reduce qualitydefects.

+ Ensures appropriate process and product documentation.

+ Experience with 3D modeling required.

+ Experience with CNC programming for complex parts preferred.

+ Creates one-to-one layouts.Designs and procures tooling and fixturing.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ Bachelorsdegree in engineering discipline or related field

+ 3 to 5years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Estimated7% travel required.

+ 3D modelingexperience required.

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills,Education, and Experience**

+ BachelorsDegree with mechanical engineering

+ CNCprogramming experience preferred.

+ Previouswork experience in power generation manufacturing preferred.

+ Tooling/fixturingdesign experience preferred.

+ ContinuousImprovement/Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
