Job Description:

L3Harris is searching for talented Manufacturing Engineers to support the production of next generation, high-speed avionics hardware. This position will focus on manufacturing of high-performance avionics hardware including Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), Sub-Assemblies and Chassis assemblies while providing continuous improvement of the automated manufacturing processes. In depth familiarity with all aspects of printed circuit board design and fabrication will be highly beneficial in this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide input into new products (DFM/DFT), processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function of business results.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to the manufacturing technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external organizations.
  • Create manufacturing fixturing using in house Additive Manufacturing processes and tools.
  • Develop Assembly Method Sheets (AMS).
  • Provide continuous improvement to drive out waste while increasing safety and quality.


    • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in Lean principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 5S+1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Cause & Effect, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etc.

      Preferred Additional Skills:

      • Hands on experience with Printed Circuit Board fabrication and/or assembly and chassis assembly.
      • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Industrial engineering.
      • Working knowledge and general understanding of IPC -6012, IPC-6013, IPC-A-600 and IPC 6018.
      • Background in manufacturing of electronics for Military and Government Systems.
      • Experience deploying DFM & DFT strategies on high complexity products and programs.
      • Ability to develop and manage organizational budgets.
      • Demonstrated experience in Lean principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 5S+1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etc.
      • Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
      • Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Pro-E, Six Sigma, technical writing, MS Project and/or MS SharePoint.
      • Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
      • Automated chemical dispensing process development.
      • Ability to work a weekend shift.
      • Familiarity in Control or similar MRP based system and Aegis based Manufacturing Execution System.
      • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance preferred but not required.
