Manager Support Services - Graduate Medical Education

Responsible for managing the operations of a business group, service line or program for the efficient flow of business operations. Provides supervision to staff performing functions related to all aspects of the operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes and controls resources, processes and activities involved in the day to day management of business or service operations to ensure the delivery of services and results as well as compliance with organizational policy. Oversees all processes related to the operations.
  • Identifies services, problems and issues. Responsible for the escalation of issues. Coordinates review and resolution of complex service issues not resolvable by staff. Collaborates with other operational leaders and technical teams to assess the feasibility of resolving issues or making improvements. Identifies opportunities for improvements to services or programs. Recommends alternatives.  
  • Tracks and analyzes operational processes, trends, variances and other metrics to identify deficiencies and capabilities to operations. Implements improvements to systems, methods and processes to optimize operational efficiencies. Develops policies and procedures in response to new or changing requirements.
  • Manages ongoing contractual relationships. Ensures vendor or supplier services or products meet contractual agreements, performance standards and overall company policies and procedures. Addresses vendor services, product issues, defects or deficiencies.
  • Manages projects aimed at improving services and quality. Provides consultation to project teams typically consisting of multi-disciplinary functions.
  • Manages the budget to meet fiscal goals for capital, payroll and non-payroll expenses. Performs financial and staff analyses. Reconciles accounts and budget reporting requirements. Advises management of variances. Recommends and implements solutions.
  • Supervises staff performing distinct roles in the areas of administrative, professional, technical and/or support functions to ensure meeting deadlines, business needs and requirements in accordance to performance measures, targets and service level agreements. Plans, delegates and determines work assignments for staff. Recommends the selection of staff. Trains, develops and motivates staff. Evaluates individual employee performance.
