Manager, Raptor Turbopump Production


  • Manage the Turbopump production plan, including daily schedules and workflow, as well as inventory of pump hardware necessary to support assembly operations.
  • Determine and execute strategy supporting a 1 engine/day exit rate.
  • Drive production floor layout and process flow improvement to ensure new processes are introduced effectively.
  • Set clear targets for all technicians and provide creative and challenging solutions to proactively remove roadblocks; promote a transparent work environment where employees can take ownership, propose new ideas and raise concerns or potential blockers
  • Function as a liaison between engineering, supply chain, quality, NDE and production departments to ensure optimal communication and partnering
  • Assist with development, evaluation and improvement of manufacturing/fabrication methodologies and techniques as well as manufacturing process improvements and make recommendations on solutions
  • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure safety, accuracy, quality and on-time delivery; plan, organize and coordinate assembly operations, and work to assure that daily production schedules are achieved
  • Prepare necessary reports for upper management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business, economics or similar technical discipline
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industry

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering degree
  • 5 years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industry
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production
  • Commercial aviation or automotive background
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production teams
  • Excellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
  • Proven ability to adapt to fluctuating work assignments and fast paced work environment
  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with reading, interpreting and following schematics (engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists) and mechanical assemblies (mechanical drawings and parts lists)

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to work long hours and weekends as needed
  • Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed
