I. Basic Purpose:

Manages the Interventional Radiology/ Cardiac Cath /Vascular labs and Interventional Pre/Post area at TMC by ensuring that standards of care are maintained by professional caregivers. Strives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the care provided while encouraging and stimulating the professional growth of those providing care. This position will collaborate and coordinate with the leadership team at both sites for efficient staff and patient flow.

II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Complies with established corporate and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance methods, and safety codes. Demonstrates compliance with licensing, regulatory and accrediting agency provisions as required.

2. Consistently demonstrates appropriate and professional communication behavior toward patients, customers, and coworkers. Cooperates with Management and peers to promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration.

3. Assists with hiring, precepting, corrective action and terminations as needed in accordance with established guidelines. Performs and completes associate evaluations as required.

4. Assists director in developing department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation. Incorporate true north metrics in daily routine and huddles with staff.

5. Assists director in developing and recommending department operating budget and ensures that the interventional lab operates within that budget.

6. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement measures, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

7. Oversees maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a manner that promotes efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff. Communicates any problems or requests for supplies to Inventory coordinator.

8. Elevates physician issues or concerns to departmental leadership and addresses such issues appropriately and timely.

9. Oversees and ensures departmental charge capture through a solid charge reconciliation process and documentation.

10. Complies and holds associates, physicians and vendors to regulatory, organizational and departmental policies and procedures..

11. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature and in-service meetings and workshops.

12. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Shares new information and best practice initiatives with staff to elevate their skill and knowledge.

13. Participates in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required including APRB, radiation Safety and regulatory tracers for compliance.

14. Maintains awareness and alignment with the corporate dashboard and strategic initiatives.

15. Oversight and monitoring of new staff orientation, training and onboarding.

16. Assist staff in the procedural lab as the need arises and will cover some on call shifts as the need arises.

17. Knowledgeable about staffing standards. Responsible to flex staff in response to changes in volume and acuity. Collaborate with leadership on staffing schedules for all Interventional labs.

18. Maintain open communication with site leadership to promote and enhance interdepartmental teamwork.

19. Maintains annual mandatory education requirements specific to position as mandated by Martin Health System.

20. Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.

III. Minimum Requirements (experience, training, and education):

To effectively fulfill this position, candidate must meet the following requirements:

Candidate must have a minimum of Bachelor's degree required.

ACLS and BLS certification; National certification is preferred. Critical care experience preferred.
Valid Florida RN license. Primary source online verification required directly from State of Florida Licensing database.
2-4 years of cath lab experience and / Interventional radiology or Neuro Intervention preferred.
2-4 years of progressive responsibility in a supervisory role; must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Must demonstrate knowledge of a variety of simple and complex interventional procedures.

> Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Science or graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
> required.
> Current/Active State of FL CRT License required - primary source online verification required directly from State of Florida Licensing database with current/Active ARRT status as a registered Radiologic Technologist OR graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
> Advanced certification in Interventional Radiography (VI)(ARRT), or Cardiac Interventional (CI)(ARRT), or Cardiovascular (CV)(ARRT) is preferred.
> RCIS credentialing is preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
> Current acceptable BLS certification required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider OR American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
> Minimum five years' experience as an Interventional Technologist, preferred.

Strong leadership skills and independent thinking required; must be able to communicate effectively with patients, customers, physicians, leadership and coworkers
