Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking leaders to manage design teams in multiple Hardware Engineering Departments. Emphasis is placed on leading a team of engineers that support development and production programs, as well as new business pursuits to ensure quality engineering solutions. The candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

There are multiple manager positions open within Hardware Engineering. Each position is described below. These positions are located in Linthicum, MD with easy access to the major cities of Baltimore to the north and Washington DC to the south. The location is a two-hour drive to the Atlantic Ocean to the east or the Appalachian Mountains to the north and west. The area is rich with activities including historical sites, museums, concerts and performing arts venues, college and professional sports, nightlife, and many outdoor activities most notably boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers. The Linthicum campus includes the potential to live in urban, suburban, and waterfront communities within easy commutes and is conveniently located adjacent to the BWI International Airport and an Amtrak rail station.

**Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

+ General team supervision, performance management, career development, staffing, merit planning, engagement, employee rewards and recognition, and resolving personnel issues
+ Project planning and technical oversight for design activities performed by the group
+ Strategic hiring and employee skills development, labor forecasting and execution through close collaboration with program management, and balancing employee needs with business goals
+ Manpower and resource assignment
+ Technical risk assessment and mitigation
+ Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring
+ Analysis of design tools, processes, and technologies needed to support strategic product plans
+ Maintain and ensure application of design processes and guidelines used by the department
+ Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups
+ Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
+ Lead or support department initiatives, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and IRAD project leadership

These positions are dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership. Direct report team size is typically 10 to 15 engineers, with the split between functional group and program responsibilities being approximately 20/80.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering or Technical degree
+ Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience including responsibility as an integrated product team or technical lead
+ Able to work well within a team environment and adapt quickly to change
+ Demonstrated technical and people leadership of diverse and inclusive teams
+ Time management skills and a proven ability to follow through with commitments
+ Strong written, oral communication, and organizational skills
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

**Available positions include:**

+ Leader to manage a growing team of RFIC, MMIC, Analog and Mixed Signal Integrated Circuit designers in the **Electrical Devices and Integrated Circuits** section within the Electrical Design & Technology (EDT) department. This group is responsible for architecting, designing, verifying, and supporting state-of-the-art integrated circuit (IC) devices, including multi-function RFICs, MMICs, Power Management ICs, and Analog/Mixed Signal ICs. Group skill sets include full custom RF/MMIC design, analog IC design, digital IC design, verification using behavioral modeling, validation of device performance in an engineering lab environment, as well as test support of production designs.

+ **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
+ 10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
+ Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
+ Knowledge of RFIC design, MMIC design, Analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and product integration experience including, but not limited to, devices in high reliability military applications
+ Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

+ Leader to manage a Power Supply design team in the **Power Conversion Technology** section within the Electrical Design &Technology (EDT) department.Our teams are responsible for power system analysis, power distribution, power supply test and design, Point of Load design and signal integrity, as well as in-house magnetics designs.

+ **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
+ Experience with program management, functional management, and/or customer management
+ Experience with power conversion, power systems, and power hardware design and test
+ Experience with business development activities
+ Active Secret clearance

+ Leader to manage a Pointing and Tracking Servo Control Systems design team in the **Power Conversion Technology** section within the Electrical Design &Technology (EDT) department. This group is responsible for Line-of-Sight designs involving specifications and design of motors, resolvers, power amplifiers as well as test and integration of gimbal components.

+ **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
+ Experience with project management, program management, or functional management
+ Experience with the design of electrical or mechanical hardware
+ Experience with Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) systems, power electronics, power systems, motor drives, servo systems, control systems, or robotics
+ Experience supporting proposal efforts
+ Experience communicating with customers or upper management
+ Active Secret clearance

+ Leader to manage a team of electrical engineers in the **RF Subsystem Design and Test** section within the Hardware Subsystem Engineering (HWSSE) department.Our teams specialize in computational electromagnetics, RF antenna modeling in an installed environment, and subsystem design and analysis.Our engineering work supports full life-cycle programs including system design, system integration, hardware design, hardware integration and hands-on build and test.

+ **Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously
+ Experienced in RF hardware electrical design
+ Experience with program management, functional management, and/or customer management skills
+ Experience with computational electromagnetics (CEM)
+ Experience with developing RF modeling tools up to modeling finite arrays in an installed environment
+ Experience with business development activities
+ Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Salary Range: $137,000.00 - $205,600.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
