Role synopsis

The Maintenance Supervisor - Facilities is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of maintenance work and improvement of Toledo Refinery facilities, buildings infrastructure, grounds, roadways and rail. This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include all the tasks that might be required to provide support for your area job requirements.

Key accountabilities

  • Facilities responsibilities include building maintenance, Plant wide HVAC system management, Project oversight, non-regulated waste management, janitorial and cleaning services, cost control, preventative maintenance, planning and contract management.
  • Grounds responsibilities include road repair, lighting, railroads, electrical, plumbing, city water systems, sanitary systems, pest control, fire water systems, fire grounds, roofing systems, fences, sewers, lawns and fields and all non-process areas in the refinery.
  • Manages major facilities contracts in excess of $1M annual spend
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing refinery railroad projects and road projects, including securing contractors and awarding contracts.
  • Responsible for equipment isolations within facilities, testing and maintenance on all refinery city water back flow and flow meters, and managing all snow removal activities
  • Leads all Maintenance activities on refinery facilities in alignment with Toledo Refinerys Maintenance and Reliability Strategy, BPs Maintenance Operating Model and other relevant processes, codes and standards
  • Responsible for managing facilities backlog within Maximo and creating and executing a daily & weekly schedule
  • Ensures preventive and predictive (PM/PdM) compliance for facilities work
  • Responsible for identifying scope, securing contract and materials bids, initiating purchase requisitions and overseeing daily contractor responsibilities to ensure proper scope is completed in accordance with quality, schedule and cost expectations
  • Responsible for job preparation activities, including assignment of craftsmen to jobs, reviewing scope of work, identifying and communicating changes to plan, verifying availability of materials and tools, and confirming schedule viability
  • Ensures accurate and complete data is captured regarding repair work, equipment data, changes to plan, and recommendations for future work
  • Creates and maintains a proactive focus toward preventive and predictive maintenance to enhance reliability of assigned equipment
  • Develops and reports assigned performance measures and utilizes information to identify and institute improvements
  • Administers the union - company labor agreement fairly and firmly, with an understanding and consideration for the companys position on issues. Coordinates actions and responses with other members of management. Investigates grievances thoroughly and responds at first step. Participates in arbitration hearings as required

Essential Education

Required: Associate Degree in related field
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in related field

Essential experience and job requirements

Required: Minimum Five (5) years relevant experience
Preferred: At least Three (3) years focused on experience in refinery maintenance or projects or facilities experience

BP also has large, modern refineries in Cherry Point, WA; and Whiting IN.

If you are selected for a position in the United States, your employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a post-offer/pre-placement drug test (and alcohol screening/medical examination if required by the role) as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process. The drug screen requires a hair test for which BP must be able to obtain a sufficient hair sample for analysis (~4 cm/1 scalp, or > 2 cm/ body arms & armpits/legs/chest)
