The Maintenance Front Line Supervisor  Off shift position is responsible for providing effective leadership:

  • People Management: Kronos Time Management, Resourcing Requirements, Overtime requirements, training needs, development needs, vacation and PTO.  
  • Reviews and or initiates all personnel and organizational changes for the respective shift.   
  • Ensure the right  accountability by driving and measuring the necessary personnel performance related issues including positive reinforcement, coaching, disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.  
  • Coaches, develop, and mentors employees in areas of responsibility.  Develops growth plans; interprets implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs Full understanding of where team resources are and ensuring people are doing their job   
  • Directly selects trains and supervises employees, assures employees understand duties and responsibilities, and reviews and appraises employee performance against established expectations and company policies.  Provide Direction to the team by reviewing the daily and weekly assigned work and prioritizing the activities for the shift/day/week based on current business needs.   
  • Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels.  This includes assuring communications to Department Manager, between shifts and to related departments, following the organization’s Elevation Decision Tree and ensuring full adherence to it.   
  • Customer interface (in support of uptime and meeting production plan) through short interval control meetings and regular touch points (face to face, standing meetings, communication through radio)    Set SMART expectations and priorities and linking to Department and Site Strategies  
  • Lead and manage change by explaining the why’s, what and how with clear linking back to Department and Site Strategies   

    Background:

    Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.

    Experience:  5 +yrs leadership experience or equivalent.  Previous experience as a mechanic, electrician or instrument tech beneficial.  Extensive experience in leading/managing projects or process improvement initiatives; Previous Lean Six Sigma training beneficial.  Extensive experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.  Strong, proven leadership experience required with an emphasis on supervision of direct reports and influence senior leadership.  Previous experience in generating and managing financial budgets. 
    Candidate must successfully demonstrate/possess a strong work ethic, safety-conscious philosophy (i.e. zero incident mindset), strong customer service, excellent communication skills, initiative, strong technical knowledge, planning and organizing, teamwork, attention to detail, strong problem solving skills and prior knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Windows desktop software).

    Accountability:

    Manage maintenance line support, manage/support the department and plant maintenance budgets, coordinate plant shutdown assignments, provide capital project input and support as well as overseeing the maintenance resources necessary to assure the production plan is met and/or exceeded while maintaining a zero incident safety mindset, teamwork attitude and excellent customer service.
