UWs Housing and Food Services has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary, Part-Time Maintenance Mechanic 2


Description of Duties

Perform general and preventative maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, floors, windows, doors, countertops, cabinetry, and kitchen appliances in the Departments residential facilities
Perform general maintenance and repair as scheduled to prepare apartments for occupancy.
Operate hand and power tools in a skilled manner.
Coordinate services with Residential Services office staff and other units, including Campus Facilities Services.
Use a computerized work management system.
Drive service truck as required; load and unload materials and supplies.
May lead or instruct helpers or other maintenance workers as required.
Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as journey-level skilled trades worker; OR full journey-level status; OR four years applicable work experience.  Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of a valid State of Washington Drivers License and ability to drive University vehicles.

Desired Qualifications

Competitive candidates will have the ability to work any shift, understand and produce written and verbal instructions in English, effectively interact and communicate with a variety of departments and staff, and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Experience working with customers or clients
Experience working in a multi-tenant residential or university environment.
