LTE/5G Customer Software Engineer
Job DescriptionSoftware Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software.Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess a BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Communication Technology or Electronics.
- 3 ~ 5+ years of experience in software development/debugging in C/C++ on Windows/Linux or any other embedded operating systems.
- Real time embedded systems software debug and mobile device integration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work as part of a multi-site team.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Good problem analysis and solving skills coupled with a strong drive to learn and teach others.
Desired skills:
- Experience with Windows Mobile Broadband API.
- Knowledge and experience with debugging user- and kernel- mode problems using Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, WinDBG, Lauterbach etc.).
- Understanding of carrier requirements, acceptance testing such AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Vodafone.
- Good understanding of GSM/3G/LTE/5G Protocol Stack including 3GPP release 10-15 specifications.
- High level understanding of host and modem communication: concepts related to different IPCs (such as USB, PCIE) including functionality, protocols, power, performance etc.
- Familiarity with MBIM (MBIM 1.0 spec, MBIM APIs).
- Familiarity with Windows telephony stack (Mobile broadband driver, services, protocols etc.).
- Familiarity with RIL functionality and protocols.
- Ability to implement and debug features on end-to-end telephony stack: host drivers and protocols + inter-processor link + modem radio interface.
- Good understanding of networking stack, specifically TCP and UDP protocols - throughput analysis, optimizations for wireless networks, debugging issues.
- Familiarity with telephony measurement equipment: Rohde&Schwarz, Spirent, Agilent, Anritsu etc.
