icensed Practical Nurse with knowledge of chemical dependency and rehabilitation. This individual is a member of the treatment team providing professional level nursing care to patients under minimal supervision and consultation. This is a complex position which directs and guides activities on the detox unit and assignments of ancillary personnel assigned to the unit and shift. This individual is exposed to various and unpredictable situations (i.e. patient behavior). Provides nursing care according to physician/provider orders, provides nursing care in conformance with established standards and nursing policies. Performs accurate ongoing nursing assessments, educates patients on medical tests, procedures, and medications. Accurately administers medications and documents the same, maintains accurate inventory of controlled substances, and the ability to work with male and female adults a substance abuse/dual diagnosed population. This position is a night position 7PM-7AEducation - Graduate from an NLN approved nursing school.
Experience - Considerable knowledge/experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices and procedures.

4. Licenses - Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the applicable State.
5. Special Requirements - Knowledge of chemical dependency and dual diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation requirements.
6. Age/Gender Specifics - Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dual diagnosed population
Physical/Emotional Demands/Working Conditions:
Work is sedentary or ambulant. Must read, write, speak English fluently. Occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.) to support client weight in case of emergency situation or client disability requiring assistance in walking, standing, etc. Must be able to see, stoop, sit, stand, bend and reach. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, elderly, hostile people as needed. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with the medical, nursing, clinical and other staff. Must be emotionally stable and exhibit ability to display coping skills. Risk of exposure to infections and contagious/blood borne diseases. Exposed to varying and unpredictable situations (i.e., client behavior). Subject to work schedule and shift change.
