Prepares and cooks food for patient mealservice, cafeteria, special functions and catering according to standardized recipes, local and federal food code requirements and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains food quality, appearance and taste. Maintains safe food temperatures to comply with all surveying agencies.

Cross trained to work in all areas of production within the department, including, but not limited to: Trayline shifts, Cold Prep, Bakery, Cafeteria Grill and display cooking for special functions and Physician s Dining Room.

Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of his/her works areas, coolers/freezers and equipment.
Completes daily cleaning assignments. Sweeps and mops floors in workstation at end of shift.

Records food temperatures, refrigeration and freezer temperatures. Takes appropriate action if temperatures are out of range.

Complies with all local, state and federal food codes and regulations.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

High School graduate or equivalent, or 2 years of related experience. Must be able to read and write English.
Culinary Institute graduate preferred.
Serve Safe Sanitation Certified preferred.

Three to five years cooking experience. Healthcare foodservice preferred.
