Water Safety Attendant


Under indirect supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of this high-end aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies as a lifeguard. 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performs lifeguard responsibilities including monitoring pool activities,  Applying first aid, and performing water rescues as necessary.

  • Ensures that swimmers are well supervised in the pool and on decks.

  • Acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.

  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

  • Presents professional attitude and appearance at all times including well-groomed with no facial hair, and maintains a high standard of customer service.

  • Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.

  • Fold and stack towels, remove soiled towels. 

  • Prepare coffee, and take food orders.  

  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must possess Lifeguard Certification or equivalent

  • Must possess certification in Community First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer

  • Ability to pass a prepared water test

  • Ability to work with the public and possess excellent public relation and customer service skills

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing;

  • Ability to create effective working relationships with employees and spa guests

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

  • Team Player who works well with and without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be willing to work mornings, mid-day, evening, weekends, and holidays



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 18 years of age and able to work in the United States



CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS



  • Lifeguard certification, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid from approved agency



 All of the above are requirements of employment and are expected to be maintained and current at all times. SCS may reimburse at company discretion.



 PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to run, swim, paddle stand for long periods; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear both in-person from close and long distances and by phone or radio; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate lifesaving equipment. The employee regularly lifts, pushes or pulls persons or equipment over 100 pounds. The employee must be physically able to perform all rescue skills, including backboard rescue and deep water lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee regularly works under outdoor weather conditions, is routinely exposed to the sun, may be exposed to extreme heat or cold; works on uneven and/or slippery surfaces and is periodically exposed to hazardous conditions/situations.



SALARY: Total rewards package up to $15 an hour depending upon experience and qualifications. 



CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment vision screening, drug testing, and background check may be required.  Ability to work all shifts (Mornings, evenings, day) weekdays and weekends, up to 32 hours per week.
