The Learning & Development Branch Specialist demonstrates a passion, energy, and genuine enthusiasm for  developing, facilitating, and preparing materials for branch training programs. Conducts refresher and professional development classes as employees progress, transition, and advance in their roles. Collaborates across functions within the organization to develop employees at all levels. Communicates and instills our mission, vision, and goals through all efforts. Knows they are a critical player in driving long-term employee and member success as they demonstrate the value of the Credit Union.    



  • Design, develop, and implement branch training and resources that embody organizational-wide values to support a new hires or existing employees.

  • Branch training includes, but not limited to: Transactions Training, ITM Training, Interactive Relationship Consultant Training, New Account Opening and Maintenance, and Specialized Deposit Account Training.

  • Design role-specific training plans for all branch team members in all areas of the branch.

  • Supports Credit Union and department goals. Communicates and instills our mission, vision, and goals through all efforts.

  • Must become proficient in GECUs core system and other applicable programs in order to deliver training to all branch team members regarding their use.

  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with other departments and SMEs to create new and continually update existing training content as needed.

  • Advocate and assist in the launching of new or enhanced branch products and services to ensure all employees are able to have meaningful discussions about them.

  • Prepare training environment and associated materials and deliver on the expected experience.

  • Develop and conduct surveys and have regular check-ins with trainees to ensure transition of knowledge; gather feedback on the experience, creating action plans based on feedback. Survey results to be used for development updates.

  • Track, monitor, evaluate, report on, and propose recommendations for department-wide programs to ensure they align with strategic need, are applicable to the work, and are an efficient use of energy and time.

  • Identify individual and organizational training needs; partner with management/supervisors for continual feedback and refinements of efforts and discovery of additional learning needs.

  • Stay abreast of best practices for branch industry. Identify and drive efficiency in the training process by developing best practices and process improvements on an ongoing basis.

  • Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.

  • Special projects, as needed and required to support both employee development and other departments.
