POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead, Contracts, is a contracts professional with comprehensive and indepth knowledge of all facets of Contract management.  The Lead, Contracts, is responsible for managing complex contracts with the U.S. Government, commercial customers, including prime contractors to the U.S. Government, and international customers to ensure compliance with all contract requirements, U.S. Law, and company policies and procedures. 

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Maintain total contract ownership of assigned portfolio of contracts/programs.
  • Participate as a fully integrated program team member in the front-end strategic assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide superior and experienced leadership in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications.
  • Serve as the official company interface and negotiation leader for assigned contracts.
  • Manage complex domestic and international contracts of significant importance to the company to ensure compliance with all contract requirements.
  • Complete entry into, maintenance of, and transactions in Cost Point (Enterprise Resource Planning System).
  • Prepare and negotiate contractual related documents such as Teaming Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, bailment agreements.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Solve complex problems following established policies/procedures.
  • Work closely with the Program Management Office to ensure contractual compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to other employees within the Contracts function. 
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and company Operating Plan.
  • Serve as subject matter expert is specific areas of contract management.
  • Provides input into Company strategic goals.
  • Provide input and make recommendations for improvements to departmental policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Determine rights and responsibilities for Intellectual Property.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs)

    • Strong communication, negotiation, and coaching skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with contracts team and functional counterparts, including program management, finance, accounting, operations, supply chain, and quality as well as the Senior Leadership Team.
    • Thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFAR).  Specific contracts may also require a thorough understanding of FAR Supplements for other U.S. Government agencies.
    • Ability to work under demanding situations with firm deadlines.
    • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
