Lead Analyst - Reporting Controls Transformation Lead

**Role Overview:**

The Retrospective Intelligence team in US Personal Banking Analytics aims to transform performance calibration analytics and reporting across the business to enhance insights for business decision making. It looks to leverage analytical sophistication, latest data analytical capabilities to create highly insightful analytical reporting and insights to influence customer engagement and business strategy.

The Analytical Reporting and Controls Analyst is a seasoned professional with strong analytics and risk management experience. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of Analytical reporting processes and work-flows. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within the defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong process skills to lead mapping, documentation and control governance. Strong communication, project management and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.


+ Drives the application of operational risk control policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to reporting processes to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

+ Contributes to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

+ Provides governance and oversight to reporting process across manual, semi-automated and automated reporting function.

+ Coordinates audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers by supporting coordinating activities.

+ Organizes and collaborates with QC personnel including maker/ checker teams to ensure proper procedures and documentation are being followed.

+ Work with senior leadership on strategic planning, establishing guidelines, implementing controls, and executing strategic plans

+ Responsible for tight project management and team governance of reporting projects and assignments for stakeholders. Including project reporting to seniors.

+ Ensures reporting delivery team is in compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures.

+ Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


+ 5 to 7 years of experience in Analytical reporting and data functions.

+ 2-5 years experience in Risk & Controls, preferably in financial services

+ Experience working with consumer analytics with a BI tool such as Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy, or Spotfire

+ Experience with Microsoft SQL Server/ SAS/ Python

+ Experience leading a project team focused on analytical outcomes or using an analytics technology stack

+ Experience supporting banking and finance teams, preferably consumer banking.

+ Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward multi-task completion

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment collaborating across diverse groups

+ Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification

+ Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously

+ Ability to present a compelling case to influence others where appropriate

+ Adaptable to working with a remote teams across time zones.

**Education** :

+ Bachelors/University degree or 7-10 years of experience
