Lab Logistics Program Manager

Job Description
  • Responsible for facilitating the purchase/procurement of a multimillion dollar portfolio of projects, accessories, materials and equipment / year.
  • Vendor management, quoting, ordering, shipping, tracking, approval and facilitation of the delivery of equipment and materials around Intel's Global lab ecosystem.
  • Research and development of new vendors and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the input of WBS elements and Shopping Carts, and tracking progress through the system. Knowing where and when to look for problems, and working with partners in CS, Finance, and the BU to resolve.
  • Fearless, proactive, and relentless tracking of CS, Finance, and BU approvals and approvers.
  • Successful candidate will be opening and tracking major purchases, to smaller "Keep the Business Running" (KTBR) lab purchases (smaller accessories and equipment that are need for lab operations to function).
  • Shipping, receiving and logistics services around each site in support of KTBR and individual lab projects (Large and Small).
  • Management of CPC card purchases.
  • Responsible for creating site level lab Shopping Carts.
  • May involve special site project management activities, and/or data collection and analysis.
  • Reports to Global Product Development Infrastructure Manager.
  • Plans/manages both programs and projects that are directly tied to the development, implementation or upgrade of technology or products for external customers. Provides leadership for the project team and key interfaces to the project or program. Works on problems/tasks in delivery of a specific product or service. Identify tasks, determine dependencies, identify and assign specific resources, communicate expectations to team members, obtain task effort and duration estimates from team members, and create/track the project schedule. Assess risk and identify issues. Monitor progress against schedule. Coordinate resources with other functions. Review user and technical requirements for completeness and clarity. Requires thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures in order to perform non repetitive, analytical work. Provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.


Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with the following:

  • Intel's shopping cart tool, WBS element system, IPCS, and associated processes. Will train the right candidate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with Finance, CS, IT, and vendors.
  • Finance processes, capital and expense criteria.

Minimum 5 years' experience at Intel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated written and spoken interpersonal communication skills.
  • High degree self-starter that can recognize problems and work to develop solutions to solve them in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to organize, track and manage a significant number of moving parts and scenarios.
  • General knowledge of lab equipment and processes, how labs operate, and equipment used within, or willingness to learn.
  • General knowledge of construction processes, and building facility elements, or willingness to learn.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
