A leading plaintiffs’ law firm has an opening in its mass tort practice group for a  paralegal. The position will be based in the firm’s northern NJ office on a temp to perm basis. The paralegal will work on a variety of pharmaceutical and medical device product liability matters.

Responsibilities include:

• Ordering, obtaining and reviewing medical records
• Drafting clear and concise summaries for assigned cases
• Drafting interrogatories and other discovery responses
• Preparing claim packages for settlement
• Responding to client inquiries for status updates
• Conducting new client intake

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage several time-critical projects under tight deadlines
• Ability and desire to work on matters beyond regular business hours
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• Professional and friendly attitude

The following attributes are preferred, but not required:

• Strong general research and writing abilities
• Prior personal injury or mass tort experience
• Prior experience with patient medical records and medical terminology
• Familiarity with case and document management software
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in MS Office
• Fluency in Spanish
