Our client, a leading global bank, seeks an attorney to join their global privacy office on a contract basis. This position is in the Silicon Valley area. This assignment will last for at least 2 months and has potential to be extended or convert to a permanent position.


  • Advise on applicable state, federal and international privacy laws and regulations and related matters as they relate to the company, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA). 
  • Work closely with the privacy office, the sourcing legal team, the sourcing team, the marketing team, business unit attorneys, and others to implement new forms and processes intended to align on a consistent global approach to privacy terms in the bank's supplier agreements; 
  • Advise on specific supplier agreements and negotiations; 
  • Negotiate with suppliers on escalations as needed.


• Juris Doctor degree or foreign equivalent with strong academic credentials; 
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; 
• 3-5 years of combined major law firm and in-house privacy practice with focus on sourcing and IT services agreements; 
• Strong understanding of IT, web technologies (especially those used in the collection, storage and analysis of data), mobile and connected devices; 
• Experience providing practical advice to clients on data use and privacy issues.

CIPP certification is ideal, but not mandatory.
