Job Description:

  • Organize incoming/outgoing material for efficient and accurate flow through our system.
  • Follow priorities for processing material.
  • Count all received/Shipped material prior to forwarding to Receiving Inspection.
  • Ensure all outbound material is properly marked, documented and packaged.
  • Route shipments on correct carriers for timely delivery and for the lowest overall cost.

    Essential Functions:

    • Receive all packages from carrier and assure the proper amount received.
    • Count parts prior to generating receiver for Receiving Inspection.
    • Route paperwork to appropriate departments.
    • Deliver incoming personal packages to recipient.
    • Package all merchandise and products according to pre-established methods.
    • Route shipments on correct carriers.
    • Assist other departments with shipping and receiving information.
    • Ensure product is shipped according to procedure and written instruction per customer order.
    • Ensure all shipping documentation is included and accurate.
    • Perform business system transactions accurately to record receipts and shipments.
    • May contact suppliers and freight forwarders to resolve issues.


      • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior Shipping/Receiving experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior Shipping/Receiving experience.
      • Experience with national / international shipping processes and regulations.

        Preferred Additional Skills:

        • Experience handling electronic components is strongly preferred.
        • Able to lift 50 lbs. (assisted) and follow safety procedures.
        • Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a plus (LN preferred).
        • Recent experience with export regulations and shipments/receipts of classified material is preferred.
        • Able to coordinate the resources necessary to resolve shipping/receiving problems.
        • Personable when dealing with internal and external suppliers and customers.
        • Familiarity with FedEx terminals and accounts.
        • Accurate, neat and computer literate.
