How will you make an impact?

Making the world healthier, cleaner and safer by building and distributing product for the pharmaceutical industry on time with quality in a highly regulated environment. Candidates should have hands-on experience working in injection molding. The position will require competencies that include molding, tooling, quality inspection, mold design and leadership skills.

What will you do?

  • Working with Valve Gate tools, Hot manifolds, Over-molding, Insert molding, Rotating core movement
  • Validate process’s for Injection Molding Processing; DOE, FAI, OQ and PQ
  • Hydraulic, and all electric presses, Toyo, Boy, Nissei, from 25 ton to 250 ton
  • Working with the team on preventive maintenance for injection molding machines, automation, and injection molds
  • Troubleshooting process problems with defects (flash, blemishes, stretching, tool damage, bubbles, off color material, gates stringing, short shots, gas traps, mismatch flash, splay, gates flaking)
  • Capturing cycle counts from molding presses to enter into a spreadsheet for machine capacity and scheduling
  • Follow cGMP good manufacturing practices and adhere to ISO 13485:2003 standards
  • Material and resin handling
  • Working with prototype molds and giving input on new mold builds
  • Set-up configuration of pressure decay testing and validating that process
  • Work with Quality team to develop test procedures for new products
  • Assist with repairs to injection molding machines
  • Making detailed SWP’s and WID’s for individual injection mold change-overs
  • ISO Class 7 & 8 clean room compliance
  • Using E-order, Made to Manage systems, Mini-Tab, Excel, Power Point, Word, knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Placing purchase orders for materials and components required
  • Understanding on Anticlinal testing procedures using optical comparator, smart scopes, micrometers, pin gauges, and other measuring instruments,
  • Process Management by simplifying complex processes; getting more out of fewer resources; understand how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow
  • Develop direct reports by providing challenging tasks and assignments; provide developmental feedback

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the proper set-up of the machines
  • Responsible for conducting routine maintenance on the machines
  • Responsible for mold changes as needed
  • Responsible for proper training of operators in their specific department
  • Responsible for conducting basic trouble shooting procedures on machines when they are down
  • Ensures paperwork is filled out properly and completed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for monitoring the productivity of machines in their area
  • Responsible for filling out the mold set up logs and conditions sheets
  • Responsible for ensuring that first piece and in-process testing is conducted to standard. Re: DOE, FAI, OQ and PQ for process validations

How will you get there?

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • A.S. in Plastics and Polymers preferred
  • 2 + years working experience in injection molding
  • Applicable industry experience required
  • Experience with Scientific and Decoupled Molding
  • Leadership experience
  • Knowledge of tool shop machining practices
