Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Hydrogeologist for the Western Region, this role could be based in any of AECOM's Southern California offices.

Candidates will lead investigations on large, complex sites and will participate in strategy and planning to conduct/complete: LNAPL optimization; decision tree development; and preparation of feasibility studies and remedial action plans.

This role will have regular client and Agency meetings and teleconference, candidates should be highly skilled in technical presentations and advocacy discussions.

Candidates should will be familiar with the geology/hydrogeology of the southern California area, groundwater modeling and DNAPL/LNAPL investigations.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide technical oversight of geological investigations.

  • Develop technical approaches for hydrogeologic/hydrologic characterization of groundwater and/or surface water systems.

  • Provide support for geological projects by planning and conducting projects interpreting the results and clearly communicating the findings.

  • Contribute effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.

  • Develop and deliver professional presentations to client or agency representatives.

  • Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field with 4 years of relevant experience or AS/AU with 6 years of relevant experience.

Must have valid U.S. Driver's license

Must be able to travel and perform field work, as needed.

Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in geological investigations, hydrogeologic applications, well installations, groundwater modeling, and project management

  • California Professional Registration or ability to obtain

  • Good written and communication skills

  • Familiar with the geology/hydrogeology of the Southern California area, groundwater modeling and DNAPL/LNAPL investigations

  • Highly skilled in technical presentations and advocacy discussions
