How you will make an impact:

This key position part of the Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG) North America region team and will provide core, common and consistent HR solutions to the SDG Global Functional groups and large scale project support across the SDG business. Under the direction of the SDG Sr Director, Human Resources, this role will provide HR support (employee relations, performance management, training & development, talent acquisition and compensation) to the global SDG functional leaders and teams, comprised of Operations, Commercial, Legal and Finance.

This business focused, process and solutions oriented HR professional will also provide project management support for large scale initiatives aimed at standardizing core HR process, polies, and practices across the SDG business. In addition, this role will manage annual HR programs (PMD and HRR) across the NA region.

The role will be based in Waltham, Massachusetts to ensure strong alignment and partnership with the SDG Functional leaders. As the business grows, additional client groups may be added to the scope.

What you will do:
  • Provide HR partner support to SDG functional client groups, which include application of HR policies and processes, restructuring, and complex employee issues in order to strengthen overall organizational capability. May coach employees on people management, career development, and personal leadership
  • Participate in the broader SDG HR team to drive Core, Common and Consistent HR solutions such as process improvement as well as participating in other broad scale HR projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment and management of the core HR processes i.e. Human Resources Review (HRR), Performance Management and Development (PMD) for SDG businesses
  • Conduct Employee/Labor Relations investigations and provide recommendation for resolution.
  • Collaborate with COE Experts to execute and implement large scale HR initiatives (i.e., roll out annual programs, new programs/policies, etc.).
  • Drive recruitment efforts within established SDG functional groups working with the Talent Acquisition COE. Partner with managers in establishing hiring and compensation strategies.
  • Provide on-site HR support on key initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May need to travel up to 15% of time.
How you will get here:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or business related field
  • 5+ years human resources as a generalist or HR manager
  • Working knowledge and understanding of labor and employment laws (e.g., NLRA, FMLA, Title VII, FCRA, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, HIPAA) and other HR concepts. Compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Solid experience and expertise using HRIS
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • HR certification preferred.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple sites.
  • Proven project and time management skills with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • He/she should be someone who is sought out for their opinion and advice and who can forge and maintain close relationships across all constituencies.
  • Self motivated; bias for action.
