The HRBP Consultant is an HR consultant to managers in a business with a moderate level of complexity on strategic people- and organization-related topics.  The following tasks are performed within the below-described level of accountability, complexity, experience, communication as described below:

Accountability: Deliver outcomes of assigned topics and sub projects; work independently within given area of responsibility. 

Complexity: Contribute on topics and sub projects with moderate level of complexity; Decisions/solutions can essentially enhance existing systems & processes.

Experience: Strong competence with various job-relevant tools & processes to accomplish the job.

Communication: Build collaborative work relationships with similar functions across SAP; Communicate clearly, in a way that others can understand within defined processes & policies. Highly skilled in social media, social media thought leadership.


HR Strategy by Area:  The HRBP Consultant translates SAP's HR strategy into strategic people programs and initiatives and supports the development of people plans in line with business goals together with the HR strategy team by supporting the business leadership to define a People Agenda, supporting roll-out of HR programs and initiatives to support the People Agenda, monitoring/adjusting these initiatives. The HRBP consultant also drives HR innovation initiatives around the Silicon Valley location topics.

Team & Organization Development: The HRBP Consultant supports team and organization development activities and consults business leaders to better understand their specific challenges and how to build effective organizational structures, organizational culture and employee engagement.

Transformation Management: The HRBP Consultant supports the business during the transformation to THE cloud company, supporting cross-functional projects by managing change and transformation from a consultative and legal perspective.

Workforce Insights & Planning: The HRBP Consultant supports initial scoping, set-up and delivery of workforce planning activities in line with business needs, followed by the translation of insights gained into concrete demand-fulfilment action plans with HR partners, for example, Talent Acquisition.


  • At least 3-4 years professional work experience in HR.  Global experience a plus.
  • Additional expertise: Compensation, Talent/Leadership Development, Project Management and strong Business Acumen helpful.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in solution focused coaching, conflict resolution, influencing, relationship and team building
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible, ability to deal with ambiguity, positive, curious, innovative, team player.
  • Social media savvy, content creation, thought leadership


  • Bachelors / 4-year degree
  • Advanced / Masters degree preferred.
