At our Workday Operations team in Medtronic, plc, we focus on improving operational efficiency and support partnerships between HR Technology, Center of Excellence (COE) and Tier 2 teams related to Workday Service requests. HR Shared Service Specialists are directly involved in collaborating with and supporting the HR Technology organization by triaging and solutioning Tier 2-level support requests related to Workday.

The HR Shared Services Specialist is responsible for providing centralized Workday process support across a variety of programs including Global Rewards, Global Talent Leadership Development, Global HR Operations and Employee Relations.

Collaborates across the Human Resources function to establish operational standards and procedures that are leveraged to respond to employee and manager questions and ensures HR Technology programs and processes are administered effectively and efficiently. It includes providing a high-level of customer service to HR and COE staff. An HR Shared Services Specialist will have general knowledge of HR processes, may have expertise about specific Workday processes and will work with more complex problems, issues and processes within the standard documented work.

Performs data entry of complex information into various Medtronic systems on an accurate and timely basis for Contingents process.

Assists with triaging cases for Workday Support and Reporting groups.

Responds to customer requests for information as appropriate both verbally and in writing. Utilizes various resources to ensure that a complete and accurate answer is provided. Directs customers to additional resources, including documented information, reference materials and self-service tools.

May work on other documented processes that have moderate variability, such as running Workday tasks or reports.

As appropriate, escalates more complex problems and issues that cannot be resolved with the standard work processes and information.

Assists with testing of documentation and enhancements for basic and intermediate work processes within Workday.


Resolve ServiceNow HR tickets in a timely manner.

Researches and resolves problems and issues, utilizing various tools.

Identifies process issues and makes recommendations for process improvements.


Experience with data entry

Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

General knowledge of Human Resource practices, techniques and standards

Experience with HRIS systems such as Peoplesoft or Workday

Proficient data entry skills with an average of 60 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy

Highly organized with good follow thru skills

Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
