Parker Hannifin, Industrial Gas Filtration and Generation Division specializes in the design, manufacture and distribution of compressed air & gas treatment, filtration, and on-site gas generation systems. The HR Generalist supports the Lancaster, NY facility of the Industrial Gas Filtration and Generation Division by providing human resources expertise and services.
1. Assists employees with day-to-day needs (i.e., benefits, payroll, etc.). 2. Maintains good rapport and working relationships with employees in an effort to prevent, resolve and/or cope with personnel issues in the workplace. Assists employees and supervisors in handling and resolution of personnel issues. Spends time on the production floors talking to employees. 3. Maintains employee records in the PeopleSoft system and paper files, ensuring accurate and timely processing. 4. Communicates and administers the employee benefit program by explaining benefit programs and resolving employee questions and problems. 5. Works with the Accounting department to process Hourly and NonExempt payroll. 6. Participates in a quality hiring and selection process. May interview and screen applicants. 7. Oversees the Affirmative Action Planning files throughout the year and completes the annual plan. 8. Coordinates with managers and temp agencies to oversee the temporary employee program. Maintains the temporary time sheets, reports hours to agencies, and reports the monthly temp counts to Corporate. 9. Performs onboarding duties for all new employees (i.e., new hire paperwork, drug screening, background check, benefits, etc.). 10. Assists in the coordination of the Wellness program and the Activities Committee. 11. Prepares end of month reports (i.e., temporary help and employee counts). 12. Assists with special projects as needed.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE: 3-4 years of experience in human resources. SKILLS: Ability to maintain confidential information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills to include Excel, Word and Power Point. Detail-oriented.
