Job purpose:

Citi Research is looking for an Associate to support consistently ranked lead Senior Analyst in Institutional Investor All-America Fixed Income Surveys and Head of Credit Research for Autos, Industrials and Services sectors across the loans, high yield bonds and CDS markets

Job Background/context:

Citi Research focuses on delivering high quality investment insights to credit investors on a global basis with a high emphasis on independence and objectivity in its products and insights. The unit produces regular written research and also heavily communicates with clients verbally and electronically. Additionally, the opportunity involves working with capital markets and banking to educate investors on Citi underwritten new issues, once the analyst team is brought over the wall.

Key Responsibilities:

Modelling: Intense during the ramp up/initiation phase and likely to involve building models from scratch. Maintaining and updating models with quarterly earnings, as well as relative value sheets and sensitivity analysis
Research on sector or specific themes, data gathering, proof reading, as well as various ad-hoc requests
Discussing ideas with senior analyst, contact with rating agencies and company IRs. Contributing to notes and in due course to trade ideas
Collaborate across research platform to increase client mindshare


Qualifications


Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
2 + years of experience in Sell-Side/Banking/Buy-Side
Good knowledge of accounting and modelling with a credit focus
Experience in supporting senior credit research analysts

Skills:
Excellent inter-personal and writing skills
Ability to multi-task and communicate proficiently with internal professionals/clients
