Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Head of Global Information Governance will be a strategic leader responsible for driving and overseeing the continued design, development, and implementation of the Companys Information Governance Program globally. The Head of Global Information Governance will be responsible for developing and following a multi-year initiative for centralized data management capabilities across the enterprise.  The Head of Global Information Governance will also collaborate with the appropriate cross-functional partners, including IT, Cyber Security, and Legal, to define the scope of data remediation opportunities, identify priorities, execute implementation, monitor and improve data quality, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to support end-to-end information governance.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all enterprise-wide information governance activities and oversee components of the organizations overall strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with key regulatory and compliance functions across the Company to work toward common solutions and controls for data management across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with the Information Governance Team and designated department representatives to ensure compliance with information governance policies, and drive awareness on the importance of good information governance practices.
  • Integrate and align with the CIO, CISO, and the Global Privacy Officer on roadmaps for data management capabilities, data quality monitoring, data security, and data privacy to deliver on the enterprise-wide data strategy.
  • Lead a collaborative cross-functional team of key stakeholders and/or steering committee, including, but not limited to, IT, Cyber Security, and the Privacy Office, to identify data needs, evaluate methodology, set policies, and ensure common definitions and quality standards.
  • Identify and define the system of record for each data source as a single source of truth; resolve multiple source of truth issues collaboratively with IT and relevant department owners to eliminate data duplication and advance data reduction and data minimization efforts.
  • Continually assess the Companys enterprise risk management approach, and ensure risks are appropriately identified and mitigated.
  • Continue to develop, refine, and operationalize an enterprise-wide information governance strategy, including future program initiatives.
  • Regularly interact with department leadership and senior management globally to institutionalize and socialize information governance initiatives and goals.
  • Communicate and drive change management initiatives and develop an enterprise-wide plan to promote a culture that prioritizes data management and information governance.
  • Engage in best practices initiatives with peer groups.
  • Maintain and update, advance the adoption of, and measure compliance with information governance policies, standards, and processes.
  • Establish controls and reviews to ensure legal, regulatory, and privacy standards are met.
  • Advance information governance goals, including cost reduction, defensible disposition of unstructured data and physical records, e-discovery management, end-user accountability and adoption, and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets.
  • Manage the Information Governance Team; recruit, develop, coach and retain staff; build and nurture an integrated, energized, and highly motivated team.
  • Maintain and manage the program budget.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Company Standards of Conduct

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.  MBA preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing an enterprise-wide information governance or data management program for a global, highly regulated company with locations in the APAC.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and leading an information governance program.
  • Experience defining and maintaining enterprise-wide information governance models.
  • Knowledge of information governance principles and practices.
  • Leadership experience in an enterprise and/or cross-functional role.
  • Broad understanding of the latest data management trends and available technology tools.
  • Understanding of relevant IT and cybersecurity principles and data protection/privacy requirements that apply to information governance.
  • Strong knowledge of business process, data flows, and data quality standards.
  • Good technical knowledge that will allow for a close partnership with appropriate technology partners on data infrastructure issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. 
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
