Role and Responsibilities

As the Head of D2C Analytics and Insights you will be responsible to champion value from Samsungs data assets and ecosystem.

The Head of D2C Analytics and Insights will be responsible for the ongoing development/delivery of the strategy to drive sales across all products and eStore (including B2B and B2C) and will have direct accountability to implement that strategy on Samsung.com & eStore!

Key objectives are to deliver overall eStore Sales targets and improve direct conversion on Samsung.com!

Samsung.com is one of the most important touch-points in Europe with over 100M Visitors per month across 33 European sites in 31 countries and 28 languages.

You will drive, guide, advise and support our markets across Europe in defining and carrying out the eStore Strategy for Samsung Europe for both B2C and B2B customers as well as reporting on performance.

You will generate insights by reviewing individual market and overall European trading performance to identify standard methodology and areas of opportunity that need to be explored. This will be done through the extraction of data from eCommerce systems and manipulating it the data to enable comparison and benchmarking.

  • Lead and inspire a third party supplier to deliver business analysis and insights to agreed timeframes

  • Consistently work with business leaders to ensure D2C analytics are supporting business planning, sales and decisions

  • Innovate reporting to consistently improve report relevance and usefulness to the business

  • Produce useful business insights to enable to business to target marketing more effectively

  • Add new value through data exploitation

  • Envisioning data-enabled strategies

  • Enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics

  • Establishing data and analytics governance

  • Ensuring the Cookie and tagging environment remains compliant to policies

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Take authority, responsibility, and accountability for exploiting the value of enterprise information assets, and of the analytics used to render insights for decision making and automated decisions.

  • Be the corporate leader of data-driven insights that help support the exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities.

  • Establish the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications and automated decision making.

  • Working with HQ - Define the strategy practices, lead the creation, the firms strategy in collaboration with the Director of D2C Delivery

  • Aligning data policy and administration with relevant regulatory and legal policies

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Supporting the subsidiaries to achieve their agreed targets for direct sales.

  • Produce Insights and ensure standard methodologies are shared across, and between markets and scale effective local initiatives to the regional level. Also identify risks to trading performance and collaborate with subs to mitigate and implement action plan.

  • Share learning and adoption across the business. Support the Korean HQ & subsidiaries to implement eCommerce (where currently not available) and work closely with the technology partners to implement and improve platforms to support eCommerce.

  • Support the business in eCommerce expansion across B2B, covering EPP, SMB eStore.

  • To provide consultation and direction to the subsidiary eCommerce teams and where relevant Digital teams in the European Subsidiaries.

  • Review and align all EO direct eCommerce reporting and agree regular distribution channels. Needs to cover general trading, digital standard metrics and campaigns where relevant.

  • Assess and implement commercial/sales opportunities to maximise online revenue.

  • Empower and lead resource to deliver maximum online sales.

  • Handle senior partners to authorise incremental marketing/campaign spend through clear return on investment justifications.

Be Accountable - Own the numbers for Europe wide ecommerce performance ensuring the EU President and EO teams are engaged and aware of ongoing performance.

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • The ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders

  • Broad experience in multiple proficiency areas of data, analytics & insights delivery.

  • Excellent intuition for business and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.

  • Partner management in a European organisation

Partners

  • HQ teams (GMC and EMC) VP, Directors, Senior Managers

  • 15 local markets (each have Digital, e-commerce, Marketing teams, and product line teams (GBMs) responsible for P&L) - VP, Directors

  • European Marketing Teams (Brand, Customer Insights, Omni-channel, Strategy) VP, Directors

  • Product Lines (e.g. Mobile, TV, Home appliances, B2B) Directors

Essential Skills:

  • Strong Analytical / Insights background, gained in Digital/Marketing

  • Experience in digital sales/trading role, comfortable operating at a senior level

  • Significant experience working in successful eCommerce teams, preferably in the consumer electronics industry

  • Proven record of using Data to provide compelling business insights in a Digital Environment.

  • Experience in producing practical insights

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong partner relationship skills

  • Significant experience of leading people to deliver marketing programs through teams, working at a regional level and optimally presenting value propositions with global and local partners

  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task optimally and operate within budgetary and timeline constraints

  • Demonstrated business results from delivering timely and handling large marketing budgets

  • Presented frequently to executives to gain widespread support for organisational change initiatives to seek investment that delivers growth

  • An ability to engage with people, using a range of influence skills to get results

  • Strong Data Analytics skills e.g. comfortable with Excel pivots, reporting dashboards

Desirable skills:

  • Big brand experience

  • Worked with / exposure to global based organisations

Technical expertise/ Qualifications

  • An eCommerce system

  • Adobe stack

  • Flexible. Multitasking abilities, able to deal with changing priorities daily
