Position Description:

This position manages the vision, strategic objectives and tactics to automate and streamline HR and payroll processes and proactively grow the Human Capital Management (HCM) application service levels while providing measurable value to internal and external customers. Partners and collaborates with leaders and team members in HR, payroll and the Institute to analyze work process design and flow, systems gaps and problems, and manual inefficiencies. Collaborates with team members to improve processes and leverages the return on investment in the HCM capabilities using best practices. Demonstrates strong understanding of HR and payroll data that drives system needs and continually works to ensure that HR and payroll user needs are met in a manner that is effective, efficient, and ultimately serves the HR and payroll teams.

The HRIS Manager is a creative, resourceful and integrative thinker responsible for the administration and day-to-day use of the HCM. This role serves as the HCM technical point-of-contact and assists subject matter experts ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. Position supports HCM application upgrades, patches, and testing. Maintains and administers system quality control standards, including system security and administration. Also serves as primary contact for vendor and manages ongoing relationship.

Participates in a cross-functional support group with Information Systems and Finance departments to coordinate system and process changes due to system maintenance (e.g. new software versions, new hardware), and administrative functions (e.g. creating new departments, addressing audit requirements). Documents system use and configuration changes. Also, proactively interfaces with end users and pertinent stakeholders to ensure services are adjusted to meet changing Institute needs, and to optimize service levels.

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience:

Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive and professional experience in HR/HCM systems.
  • HR/HCM system implementation experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of HCM configuration and design including various HCM modules: Benefits, Training & Development, Recruitment, Core HR, Payroll, etc.
  • Vendor management experience, including working with interfaces.
  • Experience with cloud SaaS tools.

Preferred:

  • Ultimate Software experience highly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
Special Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
  • Satisfactory completion of the Institute’s background investigation.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires constant adjusting focus, grasping, hearing, keying, seeing, sitting, talking, analyzing, calculating, communicating, reading, reasoning, writing, working in confined areas and working inside.
