Hardware Validation Engineer
Job DescriptionAs a hardware electrical validation engineer you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for conducting experiments to test functionality of server systems.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Developing and documenting electrical validation requirements and test procedures
- Working in a hardware lab environment to carry out these tests using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other standard electrical test equipment
- You will analyze basic functionality and electrical performance of subsystems on printed circuit boards and help resolve any performance issues
- Perform rework on PCBs using soldering equipment

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineer, Computer engineering, or related field
- Experience with electrical circuit fundamentals - resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors - describe voltage/current relationships
- Experience with Computer System Architecture
- Experience to read and explain schematic diagrams
- Experience to read PCB layout images, component datasheets and rework instructions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with key platform bus protocols like I2C, SPI, PCIe will be an added advantage
- PCB rework using solder tools - component replacement, surface mount, through hole, blue wire, etc.
- Experience with debug of Intel chipsets and/or CPUs
