Clearing,Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible forapplication development and support for more than 350 critical business systemsincluding Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub(multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securitiesclearing).

Clearanceand Collateral Technology (CCT) withinCMIST builds high-performance and resilient clearance and collateral managementplatforms to service BNY Mellons broker-dealer clients and is the soleprovider for Government Securities Clearing Services. The group is currentlyfocused on Repo Modernization, which will pave the way to the Future ofCollateral for the business providing strengthened platform resiliency andnew trade capabilities within a unified system. All CCT applications are builtfor real-time operations aided by a data warehouse for reporting and businessinsights.

Group Manager, ApplDevelopment->> Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small teamsresponsible for all phases of the systems development and implementationprocess. Provides analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support forthe client area application systems in an environment of diverse developmentplatforms, computing environments, software, hardware, technology, tools, etc.Analyzes organizational needs for application development and interfaces withclients to ensure systems are developed that meet their business requirements.Oversees applications programming and analysis projects which includedevelopment, installation and maintenance of application programs. Leadsanalysis of organizational needs for development and implementation ofapplications. Interfaces regularly with clients and project managers to ensurethat systems are developed to meet their business needs and specifications.Ensures the availability, integrity and stability of production systems byidentifying appropriate resources to manage all systems and having a process inplace to respond quickly to problems. Communicates and endorses strictadherence to development and quality standards and monitors adherence on anon-going basis. Communicates timely and accurate project-related information torelevant parties. Acts as an advocate for change management, encouragesinnovation and creativity in technology solutions. Recruits, directs, motivatesand develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, theirprofessional growth and their ability to function effectively with theircolleagues as a team. Manages one or more development teams. Contributes to theachievement of team objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management and administrative experience required
  • 5+ years of experience managing and overseeingmid sized teamsworking on Application Development projects using Java tech stack
  • Should have technical background/expertise to be involved in high level design/architecture, code reviews, guiding team etc.
  • Business knowledge and/or professional experience in Collateral Management and Credit Systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industries is a plus.
