**Job Description**

Designing and implementing security solutions in collaboration with other information security team members as stakeholders. Proven ability to apply a broad perspective to positively impact the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives. Ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence others to adopt a different point of view. Ability to build a trusted subject matter expert relationship and work effectively and productively within the team, department and broader organization.


Utilizes mastery of discipline in one or more information security practice areas to lead complex moderate size projects including scoping the effort with associated costs. This requires greater breadth of proficiency in the security discipline and in leading teams or special projects. Leading a complex project team or proof-of-concept effort, would include the ability to plan, design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems as required per the information security architecture enterprise roadmap with delivery on-time and with high-quality. Interprets internal or external business needs and recommends best practices and solid security principles to solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions. Documents these as security architectural standards, procedures or processes. In alignment with the policy and risk management team, Identify risk and drive to remediate or through process for an exception to accept risk.


Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements. Conduct research, apply broad perspective, exercise judgement to provide documented recommendation of best practices as you provide consulting and engineering in the design & development effort. Drive necessary improvements by collaborating across Information Security, IT and the business. Actively engage for your area of expertise in technical review boards as necessary.


Security architecture areas of knowledge, mastery & in depth hands-on expertise in area(s) that include wired/wireless network security, identity and access management, cloud security, application, web and mobile security architecture. Understanding of or experience with or in the following areas: central log management and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, Security Operations Center (SOC) and Security Incident Management, Security Risk Assessment processes, Risk Management, Security Policy, Standards, Guidelines and Procedures.


Role reports to the senior manager of Information Security Architecture


Key technical elements are needed to build security into the organization so experience with technology such as Public and Private Cloud, application development, scripting languages, relational database management systems, system and/or network administration, machine learning, data science, use of standard tools from Microsoft project, excel, word to set-up or use of security software for SIEM, user behavior analysis or multifactor authentication.


**Required Qualifications**

3+ years of experience in a security/architect role.


**Preferred Qualifications**

Understanding of security standards and frameworks including NIST and ISO.

Preferred industry certifications include: CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISSAP, ISSEP, SANS-related certifications


The security architect area of knowledge should include in-depth hands-on expertise in one or more of the areas listed in the 4th paragraph: wired/wireless network security, identity and access management, cloud security, application, web and mobile security architecture.


The candidate should have understanding or preferably experience with one or more of the following security areas: central log management and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), user behavior analysis, vulnerability management, Security Operations Center (SOC) and Security Incident Management, Security Risk Assessment processes, Risk Management, Security Policy, Standards, Guidelines and Procedures.


The candidate should have understanding or preferably experience with one or more of the following technology areas: Public and Private Cloud, application development, scripting languages, relational database management systems, system and/or network administration, machine learning, data science.

Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs and technology projects.


Ability to be the enterprise security subject matter expert who can explain the value proposition and technical topics to those with or without a technical background.

Demonstrated mastery in integrating and developing security solutions into a 7x24 production environment.

Proven ability to work concurrently on multiple efforts with aggressive deadlines


Experience with Windows, Unix/Linux and mainframe

Demonstrated experience utilizing basic tools including Sharepoint, Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint as well as collaboration tools such as email, skype, webex, chatops


**Education**

Bachelors or equivalent in information security, engineering, information technology, computer science or related area.
