Function Background/Context:

To ensure a strong & consistent global control environment, the Markets & Securities Services business is enhancing the Business Control and Supervision (BCS) function. This global role supports the development and maintenance of the front office supervision framework. The successful candidate will work with Global MSS Business Management, Sales and Trading, Compliance and Technology to evolve the current supervision framework, coordinate key projects, and monitor the performance of supervisory activities within Markets and the firm (first line of defense). The position will have high visibility and be located in the New York City headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with business heads, supervisors, CAOs and control functions to further develop and deploy a best in class supervision framework;
Manage front office supervision controls across all businesses / regions to support completeness and consistency;
Manage the design and implementation of new controls, and execute on key projects for monitoring supervisors performance of controls to ensure sustainability and adequacy of the framework;
Coordinate change management, including roll-out plans, communication and training as needed;
Develop target state evidencing of controls to facilitate supervisors execution of controls through streamlined processes and reports;
Create and maintain written supervisory procedures and control documentation;
Develop supervisory reports for Sales and Trading businesses to highlight supervisory and conduct trends;
Define strategy, such as combining data sources and detecting patterns, to enhance identification of potential risk areas;
Drive control testing and control enhancement initiatives to remediate identified issues;
Build strong internal relationships with Front Office businesses to strengthen control awareness;
Interact with Compliance Testing and Internal Audit on reviews and investigations.


Qualifications


A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience within Markets or supporting another front office business;
Strong understanding of sales and trading businesses and products, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and front office controls;
Experience in designing controls, writing business requirements and delivering change;
Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external management;
Excellent problem solving and analytical with attention to detail and accuracy;
Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing tasks;
Undergraduate degree required.
