This senior level role will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating on all income tax and non-income tax controversy work for US federal, state and local and outside the US. The person is responsible for negotiating audit resolutions around the world, leading competent authority efforts and managing litigation as necessary. Responsibilities also include analyzing and determining the financial statement implications of tax controversy matters. This position also requires active engagement in Citis external financial tax reporting, including 10-Qs and the 10-K. This includes advise and review of the consolidated tax provision and tax accounting policy. The candidate should have a strong tax accounting background. The position is also responsible for coordinating transfer pricing compliance and controversies, together with the Controllers organization, as well as interfacing with regulators and other external bodies on transfer pricing developments. The candidate for this position should have the ability to take on broader responsibilities within Citi's Tax department over the next near term.


Qualifications


Minimum 10-15 years of experience in tax controversy work. 
Strong tax accounting skillset is necessary.
Background with international and state tax matters, as well as transfer pricing matters, a plus
