To ensure a strong and consistent global control environment, Global Fund Services (GFS) is enhancing its In Business Risk & Controls (IBRC) Framework. This new role will be part of the Securities Services (SS) Global Fund Services group reporting to the GFS IBRC lead.

The role will focus on enhancing the global governance, risk, controls framework for GFS, in line with global enhancement initiatives across SS and the Institutional Clients Group (ICG), and additionally, harmonize standards and drive adoption of best practices. This role plays a leading contribution to the strategic direction and articulation of the internal control framework of the GFS First line of defense (LOD) IBRC team.

The selected candidate is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional process improvement and strategy by considering their application in own job and the business and is a recognized authority for an area within the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular other internal business partners. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to process improvement of the governance and controls framework of the GFS business.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Responsible for managing and supporting multiple risk and control programs for GFS including defining the strategy, approach, processes, quality, tools and reporting that provide global risk management consistency and excellence.

+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

+ Support Product and Regional stakeholders in maintaining related continuous and cyclical risk assessment deliverables.

+ Review of relevant Citi policies and standards to ensure compliance.

+ Continually challenging, improving, and updating of activities, risks, controls, and monitoring best practices and documentation.

+ Contribute to monthly/quarterly business control reviews and various control forums and Committee meetings as needed.

+ Support management with the preparation of GFS related materials to report on controls governance processes projects, including provision of GFS IBRC related material to SS Business Risk and Control Committee.

+ Work closely with business partners on findings and makes recommendations on improving practices.

+ Develop procedural implementation and change management process with operations and reporting teams to ensure proper governance and controls.

+ Understand and support GFS related topics within key regulatory exams, audits, policy and control initiatives and Governance & Control Office requests.

+ Supported by the Governance & Control Office, carry out the mapping of regulations to controls activity for GFS related risks.

+ Review of related Losses, Operational Risk Events and Potential Risk Events .

+ Participation in and review of 2nd and 3rd Lind of Defense (LOD) and Independent Risk and Control assessments.

+ Support Issues and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) in a consultant capacity or remediation capacity.

+ Initiate and lead short, medium, and long-term projects to achieve business control objectives.

+ Coordination with Functional Partners.

+ Participation in Consent Order responses as needed

+ Lead or participate in Ad hoc programs and projects


+ Undergraduate degree required.

+ 5+ of relevant work experience in Risk, Controls or Governance in the Financial Services.

+ Strong working experience in Securities Services Ops is preferred.

+ Experience as an IBRC Officer, Auditor or Regulator a plus.

+ Exceptional professional track record.
