Global Commercial Cards Operations Transformation, Reengineering and Planning Lead (Director)

**Job Background/context:** The role lies within the Operations team for the Global Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business, and is focused on supporting the multi-year, multi-workstream Transformation Program for Commercial Cards Client Operations. The key goals of the program are to enhance, streamline and automate Operations in order to improve productivity, scalability, controls and client experience.

The role will have 5 primary responsibilities:

+ **Team and function leadership** : lead a globally distributed team of transformation and program professionals, providing guidance, direction, coaching and support as appropriate.

+ **Program management oversight:** oversee the processes required for the governance of the Transformation Program: centralized tracking, measurement and reporting.

+ **Lean reviews and re-engineering projects:** identify gaps and define opportunities in current end-to-end processes in Commercial Cards Client Operations.

+ **Support design and development of detailed target operating model (TOM):** working with the Global Transformation Program team, help define the future state vision for Commercial Cards Client Operations.

+ **Global tracking and planning** : have a deep understanding of the cost drivers and expectations for Commercial Cards Operations & Client Servicing, providing insights and inputs as needed throughout the year and planning cycle.

The Global Commercial Cards Operations Transformation, Reengineering and Planning Lead is responsible for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within Commercial Cards/Operations and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Accountable for the end results of this area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.

**Detailed Responsibilities:**

+ Leads a globally distributed team of transformation and program management professionals.

+ Responsible for scoping, directing & managing a portfolio of process improvement/reengineering projects across Commercial Cards Client Operations.

+ Develops and executes influencing strategies to build & increase buy-in and business leadership support.

+ Accountable for achieving measurable and sustainable operational efficiency results, and consequently, financial benefits.

+ Provides technical expertise, and overall expert advice (technical, functional, change management, linkage to systems redesign efforts, etc.).

+ Interfaces with business, key stakeholders, champions & reengineering leadership.

+ Proactively communicates with senior leadership.

+ Identifies potential re-engineering targets based on priorities for the management and global strategy.

+ Engages senior process owners for each project, locally or globally as required.

+ Shapes large re-engineering programs, defines business cases and gains stakeholder buy-in for projects.

+ Forms project teams and creates documentation to deliver re-engineering projects.

+ Runs re-engineering workshops, pilots and other delivery activities.

+ Educates teams in re-engineering tools, techniques and principles.

+ Executes communication campaign to senior stakeholders across all impacted areas.

+ Maintains accurate documentation including plans, financials and control points.

+ Assists business managers to identify where saves have been achieved and ensure that saves are realized.

+ Works with cross-business teams to ensure communication is effective and achievements are communicated in a streamlined fashion.

+ Educates other teams in re-engineering principles.

+ Provides governance oversight for re-engineering and transformation initiatives.

+ Accountable for achieving measurable and sustainable operational efficiency results, and consequently, financial benefits.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

+ Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

**Skills Individual will require ability to** :

+ Work with and collaborate with broad set of stakeholders, including Finance, Client Operations, Technology, Digital and Product

+ Integrate multiple viewpoints and business needs and use learnings to create new solutions

+ Drive adherence to project processes, procedures, methods, and standards for project delivery

+ Organize, track and report across a large program with multiple workstreams and teams

+ Assess and design business processes using Lean methodology

+ Develop comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function

+ Understand vision of the business and the required improvements to achieve the target state

+ Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and across various stakeholder groups

+ Challenge long-standing assumptions and identify new ways of solving problems

+ Multi-task effectively in a high-volume environment, requiring strong organizational and follow-up skills


+ 12+ years Banking experience.

+ Advanced level experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management.

+ Experience delivering re-engineering in a complex, multi-national banking environment.

+ Experience working within a Lean organization.

+ Knowledge of re-engineering tools, principles and application.

+ Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in multiple locations, including senior managers.

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

+ Thorough project planning skills


+ Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred
