Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join the Flight Systems Team as a Design Review Lead. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program **here** .
**What You'll Get To Do:**
Air Vehicle (AVE) Design Review Lead reports to the AVE Systems Engineering & Integration (AVE SE&I) lead and is responsible for planning and coordinating the planning and execution of the major design reviews/capability demonstrations for the AVE Segment. This work scope must be led and executed in accordance with the Integrated Master Plan (IMP)/Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and in line with scaled agile practices to ensure proper integration of the technical and program aspects of the respective milestone. This includes, but is not limited to interim design reviews (iDRs), major design reviews (e.g. CDR, SQVR), and Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) milestones. The role also includes the establishment of roadmaps that support feature based and design baseline execution and provides metrics, visibility, and reporting on progression towards milestone objectives. In addition, this role includes providing oversight over lower level events that are needed to build up to the AVE level milestones. This role requires close collaboration with weapon system level SE&I to ensure consistency with the program level reviews/events/demonstrations. This role also requires close collaboration with the Element IPTs responsible for HW/SW execution to ensure artifacts/designs/capabilities are being developed on a schedule that will support the respective milestone.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


**You'll bring these qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline from an ABET-accredited university with 14 years of related experience; 12 years with Master's; or 9 years with a PhD
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience in a specialty discipline
+ Previous project management experience for technical, cost, and schedule milestones
+ An active DoD secret clearance in scope (investigation within the last 6 years)

**These qualifications would be nice to have:**

+ Broad understanding of Systems Engineering practices, methodologies, and products throughout the DoD acquisition lifecycle
+ Minimum of 12 years of experience in a specialty discipline
+ Demonstrated understanding of the Program Management Process
+ Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies and practices
+ Prior Weapon System program experience
+ Previous experience managing employee performance and professional development
+ General understanding of Northrop Grumman Corporation Engineering Processes
+ Previous experience in developing and implementing strategies to drive employee engagement
+ Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees
+ An active DoD top secret clearance in scope (investigation within the last 6 years) and SAP/SAR program access
