Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Engineer System Architect. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

The Program Architect will develop strategies, improve the current IT infrastructure, optimize business operations, and settle the direction and approach for integrating information applications and programs.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
+ 14 years of related experience with Bachelors in Science; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD
+ Active DOD Secret Clearance
+ Provide thought leadership for creating strategies that drive transformation activities with particular focus on governing, creating, and maintaining enterprise-wide architecture practices.
+ Maintain a holistic perspective of the organizations strategy, processes, IT assets.
+ Look years ahead to consider the long-term consequences for the enterprise when choosing a technical direction, proposing a technology investment, proposing harmonization of the environments, proposing simplification opportunities, or advising a business leader on strategic issues.
+ Promotes adaptive design and modern engineering practices across the enterprise portfolio, facilitating the reuse of ideas, components, services, and proven patterns.
+ Catalogs, develops, coordinates, communicates, maintains, and enforces overall Enterprise Architecture Models, Representations, Initiatives, Capabilities, and Standard Components used by the Enterprise to perform all business and technology related activities.
+ Integrate across major enterprise initiatives, identifying and resolving inefficiencies, conflicts, and gaps and promoting cross-portfolio planning.
+ Evaluating technology on complex technology initiatives and strategies.
+ Creating business architecture models to reflect the organization's strategies and goals and creating and implementing business visions and goals.
+ Evaluating systems engineering, talent recruiting, and internal business models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities.
+ Suggesting ideas to reduce costs in IT and business leadership.
+ Identifying training to improve employees' knowledge and skills for future organizational growth.
+ Providing business architecture and systems processing guidance.
+ Ensuring the efficiency, security, and support of the organization's goals.
+ Creating methods for compliance architecture, such as data management, business architecture, metadata management, and change control.
+ Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall business strategy.
+ Candidate should have excellent technical, analytical, and Project Management skills
+ Develops and maintains current and planned state architectural documents such as Roadmaps, Standards, Patterns, reference architecture/implementation documents for Enterprise Applications.
+ Develop strategies, roadmaps, standards and reference architecture/implementation for Enterprise tools.
+ Interact with corporate and sector leaders, serving as an expert advisor in the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide architecture practices.
+ Understands and transforms business requirements into scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications for reliability, scalability, security and integration.
+ Develops full-stack and reference architecture designs for infrastructure across hybrid environments inclusive of multi-cloud platforms.
+ Participates in the development of governance processes to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization's resources are used responsibly for the infrastructure landscape.
+ Documents existing systems architecture and technology portfolio to ensure accuracy is maintained.
+ In partnership with the IT leadership team, identifies opportunities and risks for architecting the company's applications or infrastructure solutions, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, total cost of ownership, benefits and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles.
+ Leverages industry standards to guide solution decisions in relation to reliability, scalability, security and integration for the enterprise.
+ Interacts with business units in response to service requests; researches and gathers all necessary details to determine functional requirements to meet project user's needs.
+ Defines and delivers integrated solutions by applying proven delivery methodologies including Agile/DevSecOps and Model-Driven techniques.
+ Reviews and provides input to test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects to ensure proper coverage of integration activities.
+ Stays abreast of how technologies are currently impacting and driving competitors and provide recommendations regarding industry trends, technology and tools / services.
+ Active Secret (or higher) security clearance"
