*THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON TASK AWARD AND REQUIRES INTERIM SECURITY CLEARANCE TO START*

Position Specifics:

Seeking Reliability Engineer to perform reliability engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Naval, and/or Chemical.

Candidate must have the following:

Experience working with complex systems

Familiarity with statistical and mathematical processes

Ability to effectively communicate reliability concepts and goals to management, design and system engineers.

Demonstrated ability to convert between probability and reliability parameters in a variety of statistical distributions, mainly exponential, Poisson, and Weibull.

Experience in reviewing field data from other sources to establish maintenance times and failure rates of similar parts.


The position will require the ability to work in an office, industrial or shipboard environment.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

Ability to compare similar systems, allocate reliability requirements, construct reliability predictions and block diagrams.

Review design for adherence to specifications- construction of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). Analysis of Reliability and Maintainability prediction, suggestions on how to improve reliability in order to obtain a goal.

Understand Reliability in relation to other disciplines- Assistance in calculation of logistics goals and objectives (e.g. LORA), assistance in preparation of maintenance objectives (e.g. RCM), considerations in system design for additional redundancy.

Establishing, Planning, and forecasting future Reliability using Reliability Growth Curves.

Express Reliability Objectives in terms of statistical values and Statistical Confidence.

Perform Root Cause Analysis of failed parts in conjunction with a team of system, maintenance and design personnel within a Failure Review Board using a FRACAS.

Be able to develop a FRACAS, if necessary to collect and analyze factory or field data of a system under construction or in deployment.

**Preferred Qualifications:**


Previous experience in working with Naval / military systems or equipment

Thorough understanding of the design cycle and products available at the different phases

Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, specifications, and functional block diagrams

Capable of climbing ladders, tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances, and lifting/moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
