Summary/Objective: 


 


The Freight Services Account Manager is directly responsible for the successful account management of new and existing Freight Services clients. This position may also be responsible for the management of other Freight Services support staff.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Operate as a liaison to communicate and convey pertinent information to relevant departments

  • Assist in the creation of SOPs that are critical to Freight client operations and requirements

  • Conduct monthly or quarterly client reviews to ensure client satisfaction

  • Conduct periodic review of the service, products, and opportunities available to client. Make recommended changes as needed

  • Build and maintain relationships with new client employees that play key role in TI relationship

  • Provide feedback to management and other stakeholders on relevant updates or missed milestones

  • Build and maintain industry knowledge in an effort to recommend changes or opportunities that can enhance client success

  • Train junior employees on important client characteristics and account management practices; manage staff as needed, if applicable

  • Conduct any other tasks or duties as assigned



Required Education and Experience/Preferred Education and Experience



  • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

  • Transportation or logistics industry experience strongly preferred

  • Prior Freight account management experience strongly preferred

  • Prior management skills are strongly preferred

  • Experience with customer service, preferably working with external customers

  • Product knowledge of supply chain management software (TMS)

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, and leadership ability

  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing business plan strategies and meeting goals

  • Strong process/project management skills with ability to follow up and hold others accountable

  • Ability to effectively communicate with an executive presence

  • Ability to draw information from others and successfully influence change

  • Sense of urgency with ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality

  • Excellent customer service skills



Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


 


This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Moderate travel is expected for this position. Due to need for client support, this position is preferably located in the Charlotte, NC area.
